Dr. Sam Nayrouz is an accomplished London-based consultant psychiatrist and clinical professor of psychiatry with over 29 years of experience in mental health and particular expertise in the areas of depressivebipolarpost-traumatic stress and anxiety disorders, and adult ADHD.

Dr. Nayrouz has extensive experience in medico-legal work and has acted as a psychiatric expert witness for the Courts and Tribunals since 2013. He devotes a significant proportion of his private work to undertaking work as a psychiatric expert witness for the Courts, undertaking assessments, producing expert reports, and giving oral evidence in Civil, Criminal, and Family Courts. Dr. Nayrouz has been awarded ‘The Cardiff University Bond Solon Expert Witness Certificate’ in Civil Law and Procedure by the Cardiff University School of Law and Politics and Bond Solon Expert Witness Accreditation Scheme”.

Dr. Nayrouz has been a consultant psychiatrist at West London NHS Trust since 2005 and the Director of Clinical Studies since 2014. Dr. Nayrouz has been a clinical professor of Psychiatry at AUC Medical School since 2019 and a principal clinical teacher of Psychiatry at the Imperial Medical School since 2021 after being an honorary senior lecturer at the Imperial Medical School between 2005 to 2021.

Dr. Nayrouz has been a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists since 1997 and has been on the GMC Specialist Register in General Adult Psychiatry and Old Age Psychiatry since 2004. He has been approved under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act since 1997.

Dr. Nayrouz has held various clinicalmanagerial, and leadership roles at West London NHS Trust, including Senior Clinical Lead, Affective (Mood) Disorders Lead, Bipolar NICE Guidelines Implementation Lead, Adult ADHD Lead, and Physical Healthcare Lead.

Dr. Nayrouz has been a member of the Medicine Management and Optimisation Committee since 2015. Besides working in a Crisis, Assessment, and Treatment Team, Dr. Nayrouz has been the Lead Consultant of a Single Point of Access Service since 2016, which was nominated for the National HSJ British Healthcare Award’ and the local ‘West London Trust Quality Award’. Dr. Nayrouz received multiple excellence awards in recognition of his work and ranked in the top 10 percent of UK psychiatrists participating in a Royal College of Psychiatrists 360 patients’ feedback.

Dr. Nayrouz worked as a psychiatric examiner at the Imperial Medical School and the Royal College of Psychiatrists. He undertook his psychiatric training at St Mary’s and Charing Cross Psychiatric Training Schemes in London.
