Dr. Dhar is a highly experienced Consultant Psychiatrist who has a London-based psychiatric practice assessing and treating clients from all over the world. He qualified in medicine in 1994 from St George’s Hospital Medical School, University of London. He has an interest in the interface between Mental Health and other fields including Law, Business, and Organizational Behaviour. This is enhanced by his qualification as a Barrister and his MBA. Training across many disciplines has allowed him to develop a niche model of clinical practice that focuses on the patient’s need for clear communication, understanding of their unique context; explanation, and planning. His career has included dealing with a very broad range of clinical problems and holding various leadership roles in the field in an awarding winning organization.

This has included the role of Clinical Director for Mental Health services for a borough of London, an Honorary Academic at the Institute of Psychiatry, and a Consultant Board member to an NHS clinical commissioning group. As well as providing services directly to patients and referring GPs, he has advised specialist colleagues, corporations, public sector organizations, charities, overseas embassies, and the higher courts on psychiatric issues. Philosophy Of Care

I believe in taking a detailed history and using exceptional diagnostic skills to work out exactly where the problem lies. Treatment is aimed toward achieving a full recovery and creating improvements beyond the normal self, no matter what the condition is or the characteristics of the individual are. The purpose of effective treatment is to get the person to where they want to be. This is delivered to a carefully thought out plan, worked out in collaboration with the patient using psychological therapies and medication in a complimentary way. The pathway to recovery requires a solid trusting relationship with the Clinician. Throughout the process, I believe in explaining what symptoms represent, what causes them, and why certain treatments are effective. I am also prepared to write independent reports at the patient’s request when needed.
