I completed my Medical Studies at the University of Seville (Spain), Lund University (Sweden) and the University of Florence (Italy).
I completed my training in Psychiatry and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy at Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV), Switzerland, in 2016.
I currently work as a Consultant Psychiatrist in the NHS South London and Maudsley as well as a Researcher at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience, King’s College London, alongside my private practice.
I am on the Specialist Register of the GMC as a General Adult Psychiatrist with a licence to practice as a Consultant Psychiatrist. I am Section 12 Approved under the Mental Health Act in England and I am an associate member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
My Research
I completed my thesis at the University of Lausanne in 2015. I am currently completing my PhD at the Institute of Psychiatry, Neurology & Neuroscience in London, where I also currently work part-time.
My research is on the links between stress, trauma and mental health. Particularly, I focus on the understanding of the mechanisms linking such experiences and severe mental conditions, in order to improve treatment.
I have published over 40 scientific articles; some have been featured in the most prestigious journals, such as PNAS or Schizophrenia Bulletin. In addition, I have also been awarded important distinctions for my research, such as “Research Prize”, given to the best paper of the year in Biological correlated awarded by the European Psychiatric Association in 2019 or the “Prix de la Faculté” given to the best thesis of the year by Lausanne University in 2015.
