I am a consultant psychiatrist specialising in perinatal mental health, based in London.
I am an expert in the psychological processes and the mental difficulties that can affect a parent during the expecting period and up to a year post-natally (including the adoption process and surrogacy). Until recently, I was the Perinatal Clinical Lead of Brent and Harrow perinatal mental health service, part of NHS CNWL Foundation Trust, and the Consultant Perinatal Psychiatrist for Northwick Park Hospital, LNW University Healthcare NHS trust. I am now an honorary consultant perinatal psychiatrist for CNWL.
I am a certified baby massage instructor with IAIM UK. During my follow-up appointments, I may guide parents in baby massage when parents and babies have bonding difficulties.
I have been trained in general psychiatry in Paris, France. I have developed specialist interests in perinatal and transcultural psychiatry. I have done the research, as part of my master’s degree, about the parental representations of internationally adopted children. I joined the International Adoption Family Therapy consultation at La Maison de Solenn – Maison des Adolescents Cochin-Paris, France for a year at that time.
Between 2014 and 2016, I worked for Médecins Sans Frontières on two humanitarian missions, as a psychiatrist: one with sexually assaulted survivors in Kenya, and the second with burnt children, mentally ill children, and parents in Gaza. Since I arrived in London in 2016, I have volunteered at the French Clinic – Dispensaire Français as a consultant adult and perinatal psychiatrist.
