Degrees: BSc(Hons) DClinPsy PGCert CPsychol
Region / Borough: East London

I am a Clinical Psychologist chartered with the British Psychological Society and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.  I hold a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy) and prior to this I completed my Undergraduate Degree in Psychology (BSc) and achieved First Class Honours. I have also completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Systemic Practice (Families and couples therapy) and I am a Certified Schema Therapist, accredited by the International Society of Schema Therapy (ISST). Furthermore, I have undertaken Practitioner level training in Mentalization-Based Treatment (MBT) and I have also completed specialist training in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR).

I have worked in the NHS for over 19 years and in private practice for the last 11 years. In the NHS I have predominantly worked with individuals who have had severe and enduring mental health problems resulting from high levels of risk of harm to themselves and/or others. Alongside my private practice, I also work part-time as a Clinical Lead in a Criminal Justice Liaison & Diversion team, which provides emotional support for women within the criminal justice system. On many occasions, I have been able to support individuals to make positive personal changes despite them often being regarded as ‘untreatable’ or ‘resistant to change’ by others.

I believe that these treatment successes reflect my belief that personal change is always possible and also demonstrate my ability to adapt my approach to each individual, whilst only using therapies that are proven to be effective.  I bring these skills to my private practice in which I provide a range of psychological therapies to individuals and couples for many emotional problems including depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, anger, personality disorder, family and relationship difficulties, adjustment problems, and complicated grief.

In addition to my therapeutic work, I am also able to provide a specialist assessment of personality, risk of violence, sexual violence, and stalking. I also have significant experience of providing clinical supervision and consultation to staff teams.
